Some of you already have the UNUM short term disability, but we have switched over to the Aflac and we have attached some of the benefits of switching over to AFLAC Short Term Disability.

Union members that already have UNUM will save age when they switch over, meaning that if you were 48 when you got the UNUM policy and you are 52 now, you will be able to keep the rates under age 50.

When you switch over to the AFLAC, you DO NOT have to start over with pre-existing conditions.

With Aflac, you can do 60% of your gross monthly income, with UNUM it’s 50%.
Aflac gives a new mother that had a Cesarian extra time.

Short term disability is helping you protect your paycheck if you get hurt outside of work, pays for illness and surgeries and covers expenses if you have a baby.
