Attention AFGE Local 910 Members;

Beginning 11-1-18, the construction for the 5 tier parking structure will begin in lot 4.

During construction we will lose 92 parking spaces, and 8 motorcycle spaces.

To maintain patient parking KCVA management will be designating all of lot#3, except 2 far west rows, and far north row as “Patient only parking”. These spaces will have white striping.

The spaces in the 2 far west rows, and far north row designated as “Open parking” . These spaces will have Yellow Striping.

AFGE Local 910 has been meeting with KCVA management to develop a plan to mitigate the impact of this on our employees.

The following items have been agreed to:

Re-striping of parking lot #5, making directional parking  (regaining 34 parking spaces)

Moving all Government vehicles/shuttles out of lot #7, to Honor Annex. (regaining approx. 15 spaces)

Loss 92 from lot #4, regain approx. 49-50, net loss appox. 42-43, currently on average only 35 park at Church in our 99+ leased parking spots.

Opening the Elmwood gate between hours of 04:30, and 21:00,  (west end of lot #5) and designating it “Employee entrance”, Veterans Parkway (road at east end of lot#5, west end lot#4 will be closed to thru traffic.)

Between the hours of 06:00-09:00, and 15:00-17:00, there will be 2 shuttle buses dedicated to transporting between Church, and KCVA. (the shuttle delivers you to the door 😊 )

Enforcement of parking violations will be;

1st offense- courtesy warning to employee, with copy to employee’s Supervisor to re-educate/counsel.

2nd offence- courtesy warning to employee, with copy to Supervisor, and HR/LR, possible administrative action/ disciplinary action.

3rd offence- Issue Municipal Summons through Kansas City Municipal court (Ticket $$ out of your pocket)
