For too long federal employee wages have lagged those in the public sector, been squeezed by shutdowns, and burdened with pay freezes.

In February, after the longest government shutdown in history, many members of Congress expressed a desire to help federal employees. They passed a budget to avoid another government shutdown and included a 1.9% pay raise for government workers.

But as of today, federal employees have yet to receive this increase.
