As most of you all know the Executive Orders are in effect and our hours have been cut in the union office. The union officials are now back in patient care taking care of the veterans. If you have not received an email or return phone call this is why. The office will be staffed with the following individuals on the following days:

Tuesday: Alternating Debbie Brackenbury and Shelley Barney
Wednesday: Dr Janet Constance
Thursday: Rick Vest
Friday: Elena Sabido
Each day Jill Folsom will be in the office from 230pm to 430pm. Room M11-244 Ext 52040
Call first to make sure someone is there before making the hike up to the 11th floor, if we are representing an employee, then chances are the office will be closed.

RED FOR FEDS
The new red shirts are in. They are the same as the old shirt, just Red.
RED FOR FEDS is every Wednesday and if your department allows it, please wear red on Wednesday to support #redforfeds day. A picture of the shirts are attached to this email. We have sizes Small to triple X.
The red or grey shirts should be worn if you come out to our penguin park event on Sept 8th.
Tickets for sale in the office are:
Movie tickets ($5) limit of 6 per member
Ren Fest tickets ($8) limit of 6 per member
Penguin park tickets ($0) limit of 6 per member
Red or Grey shirts ($5) each, no limit.

Due to VA implementing Executive Order 13837, signed by President Trump 05/25/18, Beginning the week of 08/19/18, the AFGE Local 910 office will only be staffed 35.8 hours per week.
With this restricted number of hours, we will only be able to have 1 person available in the office, and only at certain times.
Additionally, AFGE Local 910 Officers, and Stewards are prohibited by EO 13837, from preparing, or presenting any Grievance, while on official time.
Members wishing to discuss grievances/potential grievances need to send an email to VHAKANAFGE910Officers@va.gov, and VHAKANAFGE910Stewards@va.gov to schedule an appointment with an AFGE 910 representative when we are off duty, before or after work.
The AFGE 910 office will have a representative scheduled, who can help you with tickets, checks, and other NON-Grievance issues:
Monday 08:00-14:00, and 14:30-16:30
Tuesday 08:00-14:00, and 14:30-16:30
Wednesday 08:00-16:30
Thursday 09:00-16:30
Friday 08:00-16:30
Please keep in mind that at most times there will be only one representative scheduled to cover all our representational duties.
PLEASE CALL EXT 52040, PRIOR to coming to AFGE office to ensure someone is available.
AFGE along with several other Federal unions have filed suit against implementation of this and other Executive orders. Hearing was held 07/25/18 which may negate this imposed reduction of official time. You will be notified as soon as we know anything.
